In this article, you will read about the link between oral health and the body’s overall health. The article covers the roles healthy habits like brushing and flossing regularly and regular checkups play in maintaining good oral hygiene, and it explores the impact of nutrient-dense food on oral health. It also looks at Dentalmin PRO™, a remineralizing toothpaste that can play a role in healthy oral hygiene protocols that lead to better overall health.

It can be easy to overlook the mouth when we think about the body’s overall health, but doing so could be a mistake.

A comprehensive review of oral health and overall wellness published in Frontiers in Oral Health in 2022 noted that the oral microbiota may be even more complex than that of the gut and poor oral health may be linked to other larger chronic health issues such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

The presence of cavities is often an early indicator that oral health may need to be addressed.

Fortunately, good oral hygiene practices can go a long way toward supporting overall wellness.

Start by brushing and flossing each morning and every night before bed. Choosing a remineralizing toothpaste like Dentalmin PRO™ by Biocidin can help protect tooth enamel and can build a strong foundation for your oral health. Dentalmin PRO™ combines NanoXim•CarePaste, a nano-hydroxyapatite, with Omyadet100, a micro-hydroxyapatite and calcium carbonate pairing, to repair and strengthen teeth while protecting against tooth decay..

In addition, Dentalmin PRO™ contains powerful botanicals that support prebiotic, antioxidant, and ph-balancing activity. Read more about Dentalmin PRO™ and restorative dental care here

While brushing and flossing provide a strong foundation, including oral health as part of an overall wellness plan can create a more comprehensive approach to health.

That plan can include a nutrition-focused outlook with a diet rich in nutrient-dense foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables and legumes, that promote oral health, while limiting foods high in sugar that can contribute to cavities.

It’s also wise to consider oral health when developing a wellness program with a healthcare practitioner and  to schedule regular cleanings and checkups each year.

There should be no underestimating the  importance of good oral hygiene in supporting the body’s overall health. Including oral health in a broader wellness plan offers a more complete approach to achieving long-term health and wellness goals.
